The AC Ace is back, reminding us that classic British charm always stays in style.
A maximum of 700 examples of the original AC Ace were built between 1953 and 1963. It gained fame as one of the most iconic British roadsters and was the basis for the Shelby Cobra.
With a modern twist, AC Cars has decided to revive the legendary AC Ace.
Two versions will be available: the standard Ace and the Ace Bristol, featuring modern tuning for improved performance.
The new AC Ace will be powered by a 2.3-litre Ford EcoBoost engine producing over 300 bhp and a 0-62 mph sprint in 4.6 seconds.
Although slightly heavier than the original, the new Ace is still light by today’s standards. It weighs 1,100 kg.
The new Ace retains its 1950s design cues. The retro styling remains faithful to the original, retro-inspired finishes, such as the standout Bristol Green paint.
It has a limited production run and a starting price of £175,000, hopefully emphasising exclusivity and collector appeal.
It’s aimed at discerning buyers who appreciate both heritage and high performance.
Like the original, the new Ace is hand-built in Britain, ensuring exclusivity and meticulous craftsmanship.
With a relatively high starting price, it positions itself as a niche luxury sports car for collectors and fans of automotive history.
Orders are now open, with the first deliveries expected by summer 2025.
‘The AC Ace isn’t just a car; it’s a time machine – taking you back to when driving was more about the road than the route on Google Maps’
